Argles Memorial Hall

Welcome to Crosthwaite Village Hall

The Hall is at the heart of village life, providing a welcoming space for residents, community groups and visitors from the surrounding area.

The Hall is managed by a dedicated committee made up of representatives from village organisations, along with co-opted members who help support the running and development of the Hall.

A Hall for the Community

Thanks to a substantial grant from the National Lottery Fund in 2002/03, the Hall underwent major structural improvements and a complete refurbishment. These works transformed the facilities, adding the Wilson Store, a large storage area, a smaller meeting room and improved washroom facilities.

Today, the Hall offers a flexible and affordable venue for all sorts of activities — from regular community meetings and clubs to one-off celebrations, performances and social events.

Our hire charges are designed to make the Hall as accessible as possible, with local groups and individuals at the heart of what we do.

More Than Just a Venue

The Hall is supported by regular bookings as well as a programme of fundraising and community events throughout the year. These have included the much-loved Panto and Christmas Fair, along with quizzes, dances, music evenings, film nights, monthly coffee mornings and other social gatherings.

We’re always keen to hear new ideas. If you have an activity, event or community project you'd like to bring to the Hall, we’d love to hear from you and see how we can help make it happen.
